Order Types, Production & Shipping Policy
SYD offers both Made-to-Order and Small Batch / Ready-to-Ship pieces.
Production and shipping timelines differ depending on the item type.
Production Timelines:
Made-to-Order Items
If a product is labeled “Made to Order,” the item is produced specifically for your purchase.
- Standard production time: 2–4 weeks
- Production begins after order confirmation
- Production time refers only to manufacturing and internal order preparation
- Production time does not include shipping transit time
During peak periods or high order volume, production may require additional time.
The maximum production window for made-to-order items is 6 weeks from order confirmation unless otherwise stated in the product description at the time of purchase.
An order that is dispatched within this 6-week production window is considered fulfilled within our stated timeline.
Orders not dispatched after 6 weeks are considered overdue.
Small Batch / Ready-to-Ship Items
Items not described as “Made to Order” at the time of purchase are part of a limited small batch or are already in production.
- These items ship once prepared for dispatch
- Processing time is significantly shorter than made-to-order pieces
- Processing time does not include transit time
Availability is limited, and sizes may not be restocked once sold out.
Production Delays & Circumstances Beyond Our Control:
SYD carefully accounts for standard production variables, including artisan scheduling, dye processes, tailoring timelines, and internal fulfillment handling.
However, production timelines may be impacted by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Government restrictions
- Strikes or labor disruptions
- Road closures or transport limitations
- Safety or security conditions
- Natural events
- Supply chain interruptions
Delays caused by such external circumstances do not automatically render an order overdue if they occur within or reasonably extend beyond the stated production window.
In the event of significant production disruption, SYD will make reasonable efforts to communicate updates transparently so customers can make appropriate arrangements.
Dispatch & Shipping
Dispatch occurs when your order is handed over to the shipping carrier.
Once dispatched:
- The shipment is under the control of the carrier
- Delivery timelines vary by destination
- Transit time begins after dispatch
- Shipping speed affects transit time only and does not reduce production time
- Any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or carrier charges are non-refundable and responsibility of the recipient.
SYD currently offers complimentary shipping on all orders unless otherwise stated. Shipping services still carry a cost incurred by SYD.
Estimated delivery dates are projections only and are not guaranteed.
Delivery Estimates & Time-Sensitive Orders
If you require your order by a specific date (weddings, events, travel, etc.), you must contact us prior to placing your order to confirm availability.
Refunds based solely on delivery timing will only be considered if:
- A required delivery date was confirmed in writing prior to purchase.
- SYD failed to dispatch the order within the agreed production timeline.
Carrier delays, customs processing, airspace restrictions, weather disruptions, or other transit-related issues do not constitute grounds for refund.
Verbal or written delivery estimates provided via email, direct message, or other communication channels are non-binding and based on order volume and operational conditions at the time of inquiry. These estimates do not override the official production timelines stated on our website unless priority production was explicitly confirmed in writing before purchase.
Carrier Responsibility & Transit Issues
Once an order has been dispatched:
- SYD is not responsible for shipping carrier delays
- SYD is not responsible for customs clearance timelines
- SYD is not responsible for delivery delays caused by incorrect shipping information provided at checkout
If a shipment is delayed, lost, or held in transit, the carrier’s official investigation process must be completed before any resolution can be considered.
Customs, Duties & Refused Shipments
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or processing fees imposed by the destination country.
These charges are the responsibility of the customer.
Orders refused due to unpaid customs charges are not eligible for refund.
If a refused shipment is returned to us, any return shipping fees, customs charges, or carrier penalties incurred will be deducted from any eligible refund or store credit issued at our discretion.
